The Buzzwords I Cringe At
I began meditating in 2004.
I was a teenager struggling to find a way to cope, and I accidentally stumbled on a grounding meditation. I sat cross-legged on my bed before I went to sleep most nights. And found a connection I’ve consistently relied on – despite an inconsistent practise.
At University, I went on to be President of the Creative Meditation and Buddhism society, where I was mentored by a Buddhist teacher from the local Buddhist Centre for 4 years.
When I began working in the Mental Health sector, mindfulness became a buzzword along with ‘resilience,’ and meditation became known as a minimum of 15-minutes sat in silence.
But that is not what either meditation or mindfulness are really about.
I’m here to show you how even 30 seconds of practise can be transformative.
